This event will open at 11:30 AM with an overview of the recent findings from the Minnesota Department of Human Rights on the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Police Department, followed by two 30-minute panel discussions.
Panel one will be a discussion on the ways we keep each other safe outside of policing with panelists Emma Pederson (Communities United Against Police Brutality), Elizer Darris (MN Freedom Fund), and AsaleSol Young (Urban Homeworks).
Panel two will be a discussion with Mari Jo Long (Project for Pride in Living), Charles Caine (Brothers EMpowered), and AsaleSol Young on the Southside Peacekeeping Coalition and its impact on the community. The event will end at 1 PM with time for a brief Q&A session.
