On behalf of the Urban Homeworks Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the appointment of AsaleSol Young as Interim Executive Director during the transition and departure of Executive Director Chad Schwitters.

Serving as the Marketing & Development Director since January 2018, AsaleSol has extensive experience working in nonprofits, fundraising, arts and education, and leadership. Before joining Urban Homeworks, AsaleSol worked at our partner organization, Northside Achievement Zone, and designed a charter school model.

She has led the shift in Perpetuate the Hope programming, transforming it from a luncheon to a thoroughly engaging symposium, offering more in-depth educational and engagement opportunities for our donors and supporters. She has played a significant role in developing our Equity and Engagement strategy. She has also been initiating smaller fundraising events like the COVID-19 Stimulus Check Challenge and the Send a Pizza Bring Some Joy event.

We are excited that AsaleSol Young has agreed to serve in this capacity as we continue implementing our transition plan to find a permanent executive director. Urban Homeworks is committed more than ever to use equitable housing as a platform to build community and to continue our mission to perpetuate the hope of Jesus Christ through innovative community development.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to working with you over the next few weeks and months as we transition into the next chapter.
